The largest operator of the electricity distribution system in Poland, PGE Dystrybucja from the PGE Group, has bought 400,000 remote reading meters that will be installed at customers.
PGE Dystrybucja signed a contract for the supply of 400,000 remote reading meters from a Polish company. Single- and three-phase devices will be installed at customers connected to the low-voltage network.
According to PGE’s information, in 2023 the distributor contracted over a million remote reading meters worth PLN 350 million. The project of replacing 6 million meters with consumers connected to the PGE Dystrybucja network is to be completed in 2030.
In accordance with the amendment to the Energy Law of 2021, by July 2031, 100 percent of electricity end-users in Poland must be equipped with remote reading meters.
PGE Dystrybucja operates in the following voivodeships: Lubelskie, Łódzkie, Małopolskie, Mazowieckie, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Śląskie, Świętokrzyskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie and Wielkopolskie.
